Bellarine Springs is for independently capable people over 55 years or are retired from full-time employment (or are spouses/partners of such people). We have many residents who work casual or part time, often on a volunteer basis. You will live in a community of like minded people who look for an easy, relaxing lifestyle that’s full of variety, warm friendships and peace of mind.
How is Bellarine Springs be maintained?
Our Village Manager coordinates maintenance of the exterior of all buildings, as well as common grounds and facilities for the Village. Maintaining the interior of your own home and your garden will be your responsibility. Our on-site maintenance staff is there to help you with routine maintenance tasks such as changing light globes, smoke alarm batteries or tap washers, or other tasks such as gardening if you like, at a small cost.
Can I get help with cleaning and housekeeping?
If you would like some extra help with looking after your home, we can easily arrange this for you for an additional cost.
How will safety & security be addressed?
Your safety is of utmost importance to us. At Bellarine Springs all homes are fitted with front security doors with master keyed locks. We also have CCTV Coverage and a monitored alarm in the Pavilion and Community Centre. All residents have an individual emergency response system. By pressing your personal issue pendant or a prominent button on a specially designed telephone, you can call for assistance from our own trained emergency response staff. The system will be monitored 24 hours every day. Up-to-date resident medical information and emergency family contacts is kept in the strictest confidence by the Village Manager for quick access in an emergency. Information is used by medical and emergency staff only on a needs basis.
What about insurances?
The Village has public liability and building insurance for all the buildings in the Village. You will need your own insurance for the contents of your home, and any other policies you might need.
What medical and health services do you offer?
Your health and well-being is our main priority and we aim to have the following services available in our Community Centre, for a modest cost:
- Visiting Doctors/Nurses
- On site and home-visit hairdressing
- Podiatry/foot massage
- Physiotherapy exercise groups
- Home help
Can I bring my pet?
Of course! Pets are always welcome at Bellarine Springs as long as you keep them in accordance with the relevant policy, so they won’t be a nuisance to other residents. We will require that dogs be kept on a leash throughout the Village.
Can I rent or sub-let my home?
Sorry, but renting or sub-letting is not allowed.
Can I have a friend or family member to stay?
Your guests are always welcome at Bellarine Springs and can share in enjoying the facilities and activities with you throughout the village. You must stay with your guests while they are in your home, or any other part of the village. You can arrange for guests to stay with you by letting the Village Manager know of their arrival and departure so that we are aware of who is in the village.
What else should I know?
Deciding where to live in your retirement years requires a lot of thought and sound professional advice. Consumer Affairs Victoria have produced a guide called “Retirement villages – Guide to choosing and living in a retirement village” . This guide can be helpful in deciding if a retirement village is the right option for you. It also provides impartial information on your rights and responsibilities while you live in your retirement village. We provide you with a free copy for your reference when you visit our sales office. We recommend that you use this as a reference guide and take it with you whenever you conduct your research. You can also access this guide online: click here (PDF).
